What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Cleaner position at Abby's House (Abby Kelley Foster House, Inc.)?
Position: Housekeeper
Hours: Part-time, 28 hrs/week
The Housekeeper will be responsible for efficient, effective, clean, and safe living and working environment within the property management department across all four Abby’s House locations in downtown Worcester. The Housekeeper will ensure that all areas assigned are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness in line with Abby’s House standards and values. Above all, this member of the Abby’s House team will share our dedication and sense of urgency to respond to the needs of women and children facing homelessness by ensuring a safe and clean home to thrive and heal.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness at 52 High St
- Perform room turnovers as needed
- Report any leaks, defective equipment, lights out, etc. to Lead Housekeeper
- Clean and disinfect all bathrooms, including sinks, showers, floors, toilets, fixtures, walls, and empty wastebaskets, and supply each bathroom with towels, toilet paper, and cleaning materials as needed.
- Vacuum and dust lounges and corridors on each floor at 52 High St.
- Wash stairwells weekly
- Wash kitchen towels, aprons, potholders, placemats, bathroom towels, and bathmats as needed.
- Clean and disinfect the thrift shop area weekly
- Assist and clean during bi-annual thrift shop turnovers.
- Clean office hallway floors weekly, including the staff bathrooms
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and annual evaluation.
- Maintain the confidentiality standard of Abby’s House.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
- Inform the facilities maintenance manager about any maintenance concerns at all buildings.
Minimum Requirements
High school degree or GED
Able to communicate in the English language, Spanish A plus
The ability to work efficiently while meeting company standards. The ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Able to lift at least 30 lbs.
