This role will focus on supplier qualification, process validation, inspection processes, and quality compliance to ensure high-quality component manufacturing and supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality engineering, or a similar role within the medical device industry
- Basic proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP, particularly for process validation
- Understanding of inspection systems and equipment used for component inspection
- Experience with risk-based supplier controls
- Familiarity with NCMR/SCAR processes for nonconforming components
- Strong understanding of supplier quality and control processes
- Ability to develop and validate test methods
- Experience with process validation for supplied components (machined parts, assemblies, injection-molded components, etc.)
- Experience qualifying suppliers for production environments
- Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) and incoming inspection procedures
- Experience with Windchill (PLM systems)
- Experience with SAP for component and materials management
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail, particularly in documentation accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate project risks and drive resolution
- Experience partnering with suppliers during development and qualification phases
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
- Adaptability to changing project requirements
