The Opportunity This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the CHR Corporate Human Resources division. The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for effectively supervising a team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing on a weekly, biweekly, and monthly basis. The position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, operational procedures, and task assignments related to the Workstream. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, vendors, and the internal payroll department. What You’ll Work On Lead improvements to the payroll system, including gathering requirements, collaborating with HRTS on system configurations, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and updating key stakeholders Provide guidance and subject matter expertise, supervising clerical payroll staff to ensure accurate ad-hoc data retrievals and reporting for internal and external audits and compliance inquiries. Ensure financial and operational controls are followed when implementing system and process changes. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Manage direct reports, including hiring, performance assessments, and terminations. Supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time. Ensure adherence to deadlines. Accountability/Scope The Payroll Supervisor will report to either a Payroll Manager They will lead by example and uphold the same expectations required of their employees. Respond to more complex, escalated inquiries from team members and check the work of others to ensure that it is accurate and timeliness. Ensure their staff’s tasks are completed accurately and on time and ensure adherence to deadlines.
