Under general supervision, the Manufacturing/Development Process Engineer partners closely with R&D to support new product development and transfer into manufacturing. Duties
Under general supervision, the Manufacturing/Development Process Engineer partners closely with R&D to support new product development and transfer into manufacturing. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI) and transfer to manufacturing
- Performing risk documentation and design control activities
- Developing and executing Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Conducting process characterization and process validation activities
- Providing production support, including building samples and pilot runs
- Supporting R&D test methods and process development activities
- Participating in evening/weekend builds to meet urgent project timelines
- Collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
- 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process development
- Statistical Tools (Minitab OR Excel)
- Process Validation
- Strong communication skills across cross-functional teams
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Fast learner in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Strong work ethic and adaptability
- Process development and new product introduction (NPI)
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Design Controls process (medical device or regulated industry preferred)
- Process characterization and validation
- Experience supporting R&D and manufacturing scale-up
