Key Responsibilities
- Audit U.S. import documents and Customs declarations for accuracy and data integrity
- Research and validate import-related information to ensure complete documentation
- Identify, document, and report errors, discrepancies, and compliance issues
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Escalate findings and concerns to management as needed
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial and import information
- Ensure compliance with company policies and import regulations
- 1–2 years of experience in U.S. imports, customs brokerage, or freight forwarding
- Experience with U.S. import clearance processing preferred
- Knowledge of import terminology including:
- USHTS
- COO
- USDA
- FDA
- TSCA
- Familiarity with import documentation including:
- Bill of Lading (BOL)
- HAWB / MAWB
- Commercial Invoice
- Arrival Notices
- Packing Lists
- CF7501
- CF3461
- ABI Notes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
- VLOOKUP
- Pivot Tables
- Data Analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Prior auditing experience related to U.S. imports
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Experience working with medical devices, equipment, or regulated products
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- College degree is not required
