The base pay for this position is $149,300.00 – $298,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.

This field-based leadership role supports Abbott’s Vascular division, which delivers innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for vascular disease treatment. As an Area Vice President (AVP), you will report to the Divisional Vice President and lead a high-performing sales organization to achieve strategic and financial goals.
What You’ll Work On
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets (monthly/quarterly/annually)
- Align business plans with national strategic objectives and ensure KPI performance
- Partner with Enterprise Accounts to drive contract compliance and portfolio pull-through
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing team
- Set clear expectations, drive accountability, and recognize achievements
- Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular 1 :1s and team calls to review performance, development, and strategic initiatives
- Guide accurate forecasting and business planning at the territory, region, and area levels
- Ensure adherence to reporting systems and use of analytics tools
- Optimize field resource deployment and territory alignment
- Maintain compliance with expense reporting and training requirements
- Prioritize customer targets based on opportunity and strategic value
- Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction
- Manage pricing, contracts, and key opinion leader (KOL) relationships
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to internal stakeholders
- Lead by example and build a results-oriented, ethical team culture
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, MedEd, Clinical Affairs, and Commercial Excellence
- Uphold Abbott’s values and ensure business needs are met with integrity
- Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of successful people management
- 10 years in medical devices, preferably in a regulated environment
- Willingness to travel 50–75% for regional/national initiatives
- MBA in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field
