Introduction
If you prefer working independently and can work night time hours or weekend hours, this position is for you! Typically the Youth Care Worker begins a shift at the Abbott House after all the young people have gone to bed. In the quiet of the evening, you are responsible for regularly checking on sleeping children, facility cleaning, and documentation. Once the youth wake up you will also be assisting with morning routines.
Wage Range Starts at $18.00 /hour based on experience. A complete benefit package is included for full-time employees.

Qualifications
- Experience is preferred but willing to train individuals interested in social work, human services, and working with youth.
- Ability to communicate with, lead, and maintain authority as you work with young people to complete morning routines in a positive manner and prepare for school.
- Effectively interact with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences in the client population.
- Supervision of residents and resident activities including intervening appropriately in crisis situations due to behavioral health issues.
- Assure cleanliness of assigned work areas and note all maintenance needs.
- Participate with youth when appropriate and provide leadership in activities including morning routines.
