Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Masonry Superintendent with a proven ability to lead commercial masonry crews and deliver high-quality work on schedule. This role is responsible for managing all field operations related to masonry scopes, including layout, installation, and coordination with other trades.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands production, can run efficient crews, and takes ownership of jobsite performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations on commercial masonry scopes including:
- CMU block installation (structural and architectural)
- Brick veneer and structural brick
- Installation of precast masonry components (caps, sills, lintels, wall panels, cladding systems)
- Mortar, grout, and reinforcement placement per plans and specs
- Manage layout and ensure accuracy of wall locations, elevations, and openings
- Read and interpret plans, details, and specifications and translate them into field execution
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily crew activities to meet production goals
- Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking crews and ensure clear direction in the field
- Work closely with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors to maintain schedule, quality, and safety
- Track production, crew hours, and material usage
- Maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization in compliance with OSHA standards
- Identify and solve field issues proactively to avoid delays or rework
- Mentor foremen and crew members to build and maintain strong teams
Qualifications
- 8 years of commercial masonry experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of CMU, brick, and precast masonry installation
- Proven ability to read plans, perform layout, and execute work accurately
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage and communicate with Spanish-speaking crews (bilingual strongly preferred)
- Experience with layout tools (laser levels, transits; total station is a plus)
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass E-verify and background checks for work on University of Florida and K-12 school projects

- Base hourly pay plus overtime (most weeks exceed 40 hours)
