Abbington of Powell Assisted Living has been serving Powell and Dublin since 2002. This beautiful single-story community consists of 48 residential units. Abbington of Powell boasts abundant common area amenities, beautiful interior courtyards as well as walking paths.
Abbington of Powell is looking for a hardworking, kind, professional individual to join our team as a night time Resident Assistant, RA. We staff 2 RA's on shift nightly from 11PM-7AM. Must be flexible to work Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. We rotate staff every other weekend.
RA's provide care to Seniors for all Activities of Daily Living. Assist in showering, dressing, grooming, the dining room meal service, complete resident laundry and do general housekeeping. We ask that all team members provide services with dignity and respect.
We are seeking a third shift fulltime RA. Our community is a friendly, well trained and homelike assisted living environment. We strive to create a nurturing home for our residents. Experience working with Geriatrics and Senior populations is preferred.
This position is for third shift hours ranging 11PM to 7AM. Shifts are 8 hours with paid lunch and breaks. Salary Range from $16-19 per hour based on experience. We pay biweekly with merit based annual pay increases. Merit Based and referral bonuses are offered.
Job duties include, direct care for residents under the guidance of our Service Coordinator and Executive Director in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the Assisted Living Facility. These responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with activities of daily living.
- Assist in daily tasks such as dressing, grooming, showering, dining, laundry and general house keeping.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring timely implementation of resident care plans.
- Participate in shift change meetings with incoming staff on next shift.
- Uphold resident confidentiality and communicate health-related information within established guidelines.
- Participate in resident care assessments, document observations, and report changes in condition to nursing staff, Service Coordinator or Executive Director promptly.
- Report all falls, injuries, changes in resident health promptly following state and company requirements.
- Communicate with residents, families, staff and visitors with professionalism and respect.
- Responsibility to our residents includes communicating with respect and empathy to preserve their dignity.
- Responsibility to fellow employees to collaborate and foster team work in our community.

- Must be willing to work 16 hours or more a week, including alternating weekends.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check.
- Must pass a preemployment physical.

- Responsibility to follow Abbington company rules and organizational policies.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
- Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.
- Must be able to provide care to male and female residents.
