Abbey Road University Cuisine is looking for a dependable, organized, and experienced University Chef to prepare meals for students living in a sorority or fraternity house. This is an in-house culinary position focused on providing fresh, high-quality meals and creating a positive dining experience for Greek Life students.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys cooking, can manage a kitchen independently, and is comfortable preparing meals for groups while accommodating different dietary needs and preferences.
Responsibilities
● Plan, prepare, and serve meals for sorority or fraternity house members.
● Prepare fresh, high-quality meals according to established menus and house preferences.
● Manage daily food preparation and ensure meals are ready and served on time.
● Prepare appropriate quantities based on the number of students being served.
● Accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special dietary needs when required.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
● Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-storage guidelines.
● Monitor food inventory and communicate ordering and grocery needs.
● Receive and properly store food and kitchen deliveries.
● Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate portions and meal quality.
● Maintain a welcoming and professional relationship with students, house leadership, and Abbey Road University Cuisine management.
● Prepare meals for special chapter events or functions when scheduled.
● Clean and maintain the kitchen and cooking areas throughout each shift.
● Follow all Abbey Road University Cuisine policies and standards.
Qualifications
● Previous chef, cook, catering, restaurant, institutional, or similar food-service experience preferred.
● Experience preparing meals for groups is a plus.
● Strong cooking and food-preparation skills.
● Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day kitchen responsibilities.
● Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
● Ability to follow menus while also using creativity in meal preparation.
● Strong organization and time-management skills.
● Dependable, punctual, and professional.
● Comfortable interacting with college students and working in a Greek Life environment.
● Ability to accommodate common food allergies and dietary restrictions.
● Food Handler or ServSafe certification preferred.
