Job Summary
Responsible for the overall supervision, administrative planning, control and coordination of the management functions of the Respiratory Care Services. The Manager is also a "working manager" working with patients on a regular basis.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement
Must be a High School Graduate and have an Associates Degree from an AMA accredited school for Respiratory Care and registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Minimum Experience Requirement
Five years experience in acute care or CAH which includes CCU/ICU, Peds and Neonates and a minimum of two years with scheduling and ordering supplies for unit. Proficient in the use of a personal computer including spreadsheet analysis, presentation graphics and word processing. Highly developed oral, written and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, patients, families and external individuals, groups and agencies. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make appropriate decisions to assure completion of tasks on time. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Appropriate professional demeanor to represent AAMC to internal and external constituents. Ability to work under stress. Ability to solve problems of a complex nature. Ability to multitask. Experience with Neurology and Sleep Lab preferred.
Minimum License Requirement
Registered Therapist holding a current South Carolina license and registered with the NBRC. Must complete NIMS Training, IS100-HC, IS200 and IS700a within the first 90 days of hire or transfer to this position or provide completion certificate. http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp
Physical Requirement/Working Conditions
External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis. Must be able to perform all physical aspects of a Respiratory Therapist.
