Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional front desk support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, experience with Athena EMR, and a commitment to patient service. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the clinic, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic.
- Answering phones, some light triage, and collaboration with other staff and office providers
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling.
- Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility.
- Collect payments for services rendered and manage medical collections as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR Athenahealth, MCIR, and other platforms.
- Provide administrative support including filing, typing, copying, and general clerical tasks.
- Light office cleaning involved - dusting and sweeping.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure care plans are communicated effectively to patients.
- Maintaining clean desk space, showing up on time to work ready to work.
- Hospitality is key
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medication pronunciation is helpful.
- Experience using EHR systems Athenahealth is highly desired.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are required.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are necessary for effective patient interactions.
- Prior experience in clinic or hospital settings is advantageous.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
