Lab Technician 2nd Shift
The Lab Technician is responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate processing of products in the Digital Eye Lab (DEL). The position involves performing various tasks related to lens measurement, cutting, and coating. The technician will work closely with other team members to ensure high-quality output and meet production expectations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Use a tracing machine to measure frames and print corresponding paperwork
- Read job tickets to determine lens locations and pull from bins
- Deliver trays to appropriate locations for scanning, verification, and re-boxing
- Invoice and package finished jobs, scan and bin them into proper customer boxes for shipping
- Sort and receive frames into the system, placing them in colored trays
- Operate equipment, clear machine errors, and maintain tools for production
- Mount, secure, and align finished lenses in frames using precision hand tools
- Edge lenses appropriately for insertion into frames
- Place lenses in holders and tint to specified colors, marking them accordingly
- Unload processed surface lenses from alloy blocks and reclaim alloy in tanks
- Inspect lens blanks for surface flaws and examine prescriptions according to standards
- Clean lenses and eyeglasses using cloths and solvents, perform cosmetic inspections
Requirements:
- No specific prior work experience required for entry-level positions
- Ability to follow procedures and contribute as an individual and team member
- Proficient: Minimum six months' experience in same or similar position prior to skills assessment
- Desired Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, computer literacy
