About the Role:

The Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) plays a critical role in supporting the design and implementation of behavior analytic services to individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges. This position involves working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to develop, monitor, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on data-driven assessments. The BCaBA collaborates closely with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective intervention strategies that promote meaningful behavioral improvements. This role requires a strong commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, and the ability to communicate complex behavioral concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. Ultimately, the BCaBA contributes to enhancing the quality of life for clients by applying evidence-based behavioral principles in a compassionate and systematic manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.
  • Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and ethical guidelines.
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with state and federal regulations for working with vulnerable populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in clinical, educational, or home-based ABA settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and behavior analytic software.
  • Additional coursework or training in autism spectrum disorders or related developmental disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in behavior analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments and skill assessments to inform treatment planning.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and collect accurate data on client progress during therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with supervising BCBAs to analyze data and make recommendations for treatment modifications.
  • Provide training and support to caregivers, educators, and other team members to ensure consistency in behavior management strategies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and comply with all ethical and regulatory standards related to behavior analytic services.

Skills:

The BCaBA utilizes their knowledge of ABA principles daily to implement and monitor individualized treatment plans effectively. Strong data collection and analytical skills are essential for tracking client progress and informing treatment adjustments in collaboration with supervising BCBAs. Communication skills are critical for training caregivers and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent application of behavior strategies. Organizational skills support maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with ethical standards. Preferred skills such as familiarity with electronic data systems enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting and treatment planning.
