What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Abacus Solution Group?
The Warehouse Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, picking/packing, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Functions (Not fully inclusive):
- Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments.
- Develop, implement and direct programs to promote a safety culture on site and to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property is a priority.
- Manpower analytical skills – daily and weekly staff planning and scheduling to make sure that each task has adequate resources.
- Conflict resolutions – responsible for resolving customer shipping and receiving issues.
- Analyze reports to ensure profitability of customer account.
- Communicate to the workforce on a daily basis including shift briefs.
- Manage the workforce within the Warehouse Operation to ensure an efficient operation is maintained.
- Supervise picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality and productivity.
- Supervise unloading, receiving and put away processes in accordance with K N and customer procedures.
- Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors.
- Promote and manage a strong Continuous Improvement ethos to generate ideas and projects.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
- Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
- Navigate around the local WMS (SAP) to ensure transactions and processes are completed in line with customer and K N requirements.
- Maintain product locator system, and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
