Duties
- Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, resizing, and repairing garments with precision and efficiency
- Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, pressing machines, and press operation tools to achieve flawless finishes on various fabric materials
- Tailor both men’s wear and women’s wear, ensuring garments meet customer specifications and fit perfectly
- Manage garment construction projects from initial measurements to final pressing, maintaining high standards of quality
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs, offering expert advice on alterations, and ensuring a positive experience
- Operate pressing machines and other equipment safely while maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and uphold the store’s reputation for exceptional tailoring services
Experience
- Proven experience in clothing alterations within a fashion retail or tailoring environment
- Strong knowledge of fabric materials, garment construction, stitching techniques, and sewing machine operation
- Skilled in men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production
- Familiarity with pressing machines, press operation, hand sewing, and basic math for measurements and adjustments
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
