ASL Paraeducator

• Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 32.5 to 40 hours per week.
• Contract follows the academic district calendar.

• $910.00 - $1,010.00 per week

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent (GED) and two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an associate’s degree (or higher); or passing score on a state or local assessment.
• One (1) year of successful experience working with students.
• Maintain and possess a CPR/AED and First Aid card.
• Completion of the Washington State Paraeducator Core Competencies and/or certificate of completion of an interpreter training program.
• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

• Provides individual and group instruction for hearing-impaired students as directed; demonstrates and assists students with skill development exercises.
• Implements designated portions of lesson plans. Provide interpreting and transliterating services for the assigned hearing-impaired student.
• Prepares the classroom and helps manage the students; organizes the room and materials; records attendance; maintains bulletin boards.
• Sets up and operates audiovisual equipment.
• Performs photocopying and general office clerical work.
• Performs related work as required.
