We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Medical Oncologist to join a collaborative team in Richmond, Indiana, for a locum tenens assignment. You’ll work a consistent, weekday-focused schedule while helping provide high-quality outpatient cancer care across multiple locations, so willingness to travel is required.
Schedule and Setting
- Days: Tuesday–Friday (Mondays off)
- Clinic hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch
- Practice setting: Outpatient oncology clinic with shared call coverage
Call responsibilities
- Night call on select weekdays and weekend call on a rotating schedule (exact schedule to be determined)
- Serve as both primary and backup physician for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) while on call
Clinical duties
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
- Provide follow-up care and ongoing disease management
- Review laboratory, pathology, and imaging results and adjust care plans accordingly
- Collaborate closely with APPs, infusion staff, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care
- Support APPs clinically during assigned call coverage
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
- Active Indiana medical license or eligibility via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
- Current BLS required; ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
- Current DEA registration if applicable
