Physician-led organization seeking a Locum Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide coverage at a high-acuity trauma center in Mesa, AZ. Work in a hospital-based, well-supported environment alongside an experienced orthopedic trauma team.
Assignment
- 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts/year (flexible scheduling available)
- Blocked scheduling with 7-day rotations and built-in recovery time between rotations
- Mix of OR, inpatient care, and follow-up clinic responsibilities
- Shared coverage model with an additional Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
- Collaborative environment with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
Clinical Responsibilities
- Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
- Trauma call coverage at a high-volume center
- Management of complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
- Balance surgical cases, inpatient care, and outpatient follow-up
- Timely and accurate clinical documentation
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
- Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
- Pelvic and acetabular fracture expertise preferred
- Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
