Key responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients of all ages presenting to the ED.
- Perform procedures common to emergency medicine (airway management, intubation, chest tube placement, laceration repair, fracture/splinting, procedural sedation, etc.).
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; initiate treatment plans and dispositions (admit, discharge, transfer).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, consultants, and ED staff.
- Document encounters accurately and timely in the medical record and comply with facility policies and quality/safety protocols.
- Participate in handoffs, critical event management, and any required departmental meetings while on assignment.
Required qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Florida (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start).
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Proven clinical competency in a high-volume ED environment and strong procedural skills.
