Aarondale Independent Living, Assisted Living & Memory Care Community located in Springfield, VA is currently seeking a Director of Inspiritas/Memory Care Engagement and Education.
The Director of Inspiritas/Memory Care Engagement and Education plans and implements the community’s engagement and events for RUI’s Memory Care Signature Program (Inspiritás). Establish and maintain a volunteer and intergenerational program as well as family and community support groups. The Director of Inspiritas/Memory Care Engagement and Education serves as a knowledgeable and creative resource to the community in regard to understanding and addressing the specific needs of residents with dementia and related disorders. He/she performs job duties with an upbeat, helpful, and positive attitude and in a timely fashion to ensure no interruption to planned activities or events.
The Director of Inspiritas/Memory Care Engagement and Education also grows and maintains our signature programs and services in relation to the Inspiritas residents and community. They maintain necessary records and provide oversight and direction in the community to maintain compliance and reporting requirements as directed by the Executive Director and Regional Director of Inspiritas, as well as state regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Certified Dementia Practitioner (Preferred).
- Recreational Therapist, Music Therapist, Art Therapist Background (Preferred).
- Occupational Therapist.
- Memory Care, Education, and/or Social Work experience – 2 years.
- Interest or experience in psychology, sociology, social work, gerontology, neurocognitive disorders.
- Demonstrate fundamental understanding of dementia and related disorders and competency customer service delivery to residents.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow instructions and direction, interact with residents of varying backgrounds. and abilities, remain cheerful and calm under stressful situations, and work as a team member.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must have safe driving record. A copy of the Division of Motor Vehicle Driving Record must be given to the Executive Director upon hire.
