Position: Director of NursingJob Summary
We are looking for a qualified Director of Nursing to manage our nursing department and ensure patients receive safe, high-quality care.
The Director of Nursing will lead nursing staff, manage daily clinical operations, support staff development, and make sure the facility follows applicable healthcare regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the nursing team and daily nursing operations.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and support nursing staff.
- Develop staff schedules and ensure proper staffing levels.
- Monitor the quality and safety of patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Monitor nursing performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with physicians, therapists, administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support employee training and professional development.
- Help prepare and manage the nursing department budget.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety programs.
- Maintain accurate nursing records and documentation.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.
- Use performance and quality data to improve nursing services.
Qualifications
- Current and valid nursing license as required by the state of New Mexico.
- Previous experience in nursing leadership, management, or administration.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care, and healthcare regulations.
- Experience supervising and managing healthcare staff.
- Good organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with staff scheduling, performance management, and training.
- Ability to manage resources and work within a department budget.
- Knowledge of quality improvement and patient safety practices.
- Relevant leadership or nursing certifications are preferred.
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or other healthcare settings may be preferred depending on the facility.
