Aardvark Electric is looking for a dependable, motivated person who wants to build a real career as an electrician.
You do NOT need years of electrical experience.
We are much more interested in finding someone who is reliable, comfortable using basic tools, willing to learn, takes pride in doing things correctly, and genuinely wants to become a skilled electrician.
This is not just a job carrying material and cleaning up after electricians. You will work alongside experienced electricians, learn how electrical systems actually work, and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills develop.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Depending on the jobs you are working on and your progress, you will have the opportunity to learn:
- Electrical service and panel installations
- Troubleshooting and electrical diagnostics
- Residential electrical wiring
- Breakers, panels, grounding and bonding
- Lighting and device installation
- Electrical code and safe work practices
- Proper use of electrical tools and test equipment
- How to work efficiently while still doing high-quality work
- How experienced electricians diagnose problems instead of simply replacing parts
- How to communicate professionally with customers
- How to develop from an apprentice into a skilled electrician

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are NOT expecting you to already be an electrician.
We ARE looking for someone who:
- Wants to become an electrician and make this a career
- Is dependable and shows up when expected
- Has reliable transportation to get to work
- Has basic knowledge of common hand and power tools
- Is mechanically inclined and comfortable working with their hands
- Can follow instructions and is willing to ask questions when they don't understand something
- Pays attention to details
- Takes pride in doing work properly
- Is willing to learn and improve
- Can work in attics, crawlspaces, on ladders, and in normal construction environments
- Can perform the physical work normally associated with the electrical trade
- Can pass a background check and drug screening
WHAT YOU DO NOT NEED
- You do not need to be a licensed electrician.
- You do not need years of electrical experience.
- You do not need to know the electrical code already.
- You do not need to know everything on your first day.
We can teach electrical work.
What is much harder to teach is reliability, attitude, attention to detail, work ethic, and the desire to learn.
WHO WILL DO WELL HERE
You may be a great fit if you're the person who likes figuring out how things work, enjoys working with tools, fixes things around the house, works on cars or equipment, has construction or maintenance experience, or simply knows that sitting behind a desk all day isn't what you want to do.
Maybe you've been working in a warehouse, automotive shop, HVAC, plumbing, construction, maintenance, landscaping, low-voltage work, or another hands-on job and have been thinking about learning a skilled trade.
We are open to the right person even if electrical work is completely new to you.

That means showing up reliably, staying off your phone while you're supposed to be working, listening to the electrician training you, taking care of company tools and customers' property, asking questions, learning from mistakes, and making an effort to become better at your job every week.
