What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Systems Administrator position at AARC Environmental?
We’re looking for a highly hands-on Senior Systems Administrator who can own problems end-to-end and get things done quickly. This is not a “manage vendors and attend meetings” role.

Responsibilities
- End-user support (advanced): Diagnose and resolve real issues across Windows and mobile devices
- Microsoft 365 / Azure: User provisioning, permissions, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, troubleshooting sync/auth issues
- Identity & access: Manage Entra ID (Azure AD), MFA, conditional access, SSO integrations
- Device management: Provision, secure, and maintain laptops and mobile devices
- Networking: Configure and troubleshoot Ubiquiti environments, VPNs, switching, firewalls
- Printers & peripherals: Yes, this includes fixing printers when needed
- VoIP & conferencing: Troubleshoot Teams and AV setups
- Infrastructure: Maintain and improve cloud on-prem systems (as applicable)
- Security: Endpoint protection, patching, vulnerability remediation
- Automation: Use PowerShell or scripting where possible to eliminate repetitive work
- Documentation: Create simple, usable documentation
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of hands-on systems / network administration
Required Skills
Strong experience with:
- Microsoft 365 / Azure / Entra ID
- Windows Mac environments
- Networking (VPNs, firewalls, switching)
- Comfortable working directly with users and leadership
Able to troubleshoot across:
- Devices
- Networks
- Cloud systems
- Experience in fast-moving or MSP environments is a plus
Expectations
- You will be the go-to person when issues arise
- Some after-hours work may be required for maintenance or urgent issues
- You must be comfortable working independently and taking initiative
