AUTOMOTIVE PARTS PERSON
Overview
An automotive parts person is responsible for finding, ordering, replacement parts and accessories for vehicles. They assist retail customers, wholesale mechanics, and service technicians, manage inventory levels, and process returns Cores, and shipments. This will be for AAMCO of Cheyenne, Meineke of Cheyenne, and AAMCO of Laramie. Work hours will be 7:30AM to 5:00 PM with Lunch Break of 1 hour, scheduled Time will be determined at start date.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts and cores, and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages. Process returns and tracking of them for credits and warranty. Perform weekly inventory counts
Order Tracking: Follow up on back-ordered parts and notify service advisors when they arrive.
Billing: Provide accurate pricing, and bill parts to repair orders. Review work orders and invoice to make sure all parts or billed out and priced accordingly. Monitor all cores
Sourcing & Ordering: Use electronic catalogs and Dealer Management Systems (DMS) to look up part numbers and order out-of-stock items.
Other: Tracking/Filling invoice, returns, credits and anything else assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in auto parts sales, automotive repair, or warehouse/vendor management.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong background knowledge of automotive mechanics, vehicle systems, and part compatibility.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and inventory software.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physical tasks like bending, lifting, and carrying parts weighing over 50 lbs.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills, with a valid driver's license
