As a full-time Indirect Buyer in the Purchasing Department at Aalberts, located in Pageland, SC. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services within your assigned Indirect Categories. This includes managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating low value contracts, and ensuring that purchases align with company policies and budget constraints. Your focus will be on optimizing costs, improving quality, and ensuring timely delivery of indirect procurement needs.

your challenge
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Work with Indirect Commodity Manager to identify and build strategic supply base.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and service levels.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain purchase orders daily.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their indirect procurement needs.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Implement strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce excess inventory
- Cost Savings / Avoidance report out weekly.
- Negotiating contracts and pricing agreements to achieve favourable terms.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve procurement processes and practices.
- Implement best practices in purchasing and supply chain management.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager.
requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or 2 – 5 years of experience.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proven experience as an Indirect Buyer or in a similar purchasing role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong Excel Skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Office-based with occasional visits to distribution centers, and international suppliers. May involve exposure to warehouse environments and require adherence to safety protocols.
