Job Summary
Join our dynamic construction team as a General Laborer, where your energy and dedication will help build and maintain vital infrastructure projects. Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation of heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and paving equipment to support construction activities.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting heavy materials, handling power tools, and using hand tools to facilitate project progress.
• Support roadway construction efforts by performing tasks like utility locating, traffic control for work zones, and roadway repairs in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines during heavy lifting and equipment operation.
• Assist with site preparation activities such as site clearing, grading, asphalt paving, and highway maintenance tasks to ensure project specifications are met.
• Support heavy equipment operators with tasks like fueling machinery, basic mechanical troubleshooting, and routine maintenance checks.
• Collaborate effectively with team members on construction site projects to meet deadlines while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction or roadwork environments is highly preferred; familiarity with road construction projects is a plus.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other machinery including Caterpillar equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction site hazards.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions; physically capable of heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
• Valid commercial truck driving license or willingness to obtain one is advantageous; understanding of FMCSA regulations is beneficial.
• Strong work ethic with excellent teamwork skills; attention to detail in following instructions and safety procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant certifications such as flagging or traffic control certification are a plus.
