Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scale House Operator to oversee the efficient operation of our scale house. In this vital role, you will manage the weighing, documentation, and processing of inbound and outbound trucks, ensuring smooth logistics flow. Your expertise will help maintain accurate records, facilitate receiving activities, and support overall yard distribution operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in metal, and stone management.
Scale operators hours will be Tuesday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with a 30min lunch, and Saturday 8:00am to 2:30pm no lunch
Responsibilities
- Operate truck scales accurately to weigh inbound and outbound vehicles, ensuring compliance with weight regulations and safety standards
- Maintain precise records of all transactions using systems such as scrap dragon software for inventory control and reporting
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed during all operations.
- Previous cash handling experience with familiarity in scrap metal buying operations is a plus
- Hands-on experience operating truck scale
- Basic math skills for calculating money counts
- answering phone calls about metal price, stone prices and availability
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
