What You’ll Do
- Analyze drawings, specs, and contract documents to develop accurate, competitive estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, and equipment costs
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify project risks, cost contingencies, and market trends
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for internal and client review
- Ensure federal proposals meet FAR and compliance standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and leadership teams
- Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and value engineering sessions
- Present estimates and insights to leadership and project teams
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of construction estimating experience with federal projects REQUIRED
- Experience with commercial construction projects preferred
- Proficiency in tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, and Excel
- Strong understanding of construction drawings (architectural, structural, MEP)
- Solid knowledge of FAR and federal procurement processes
- Sharp analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Estimating certifications (AACE, CPE) are a bonus—but not required

- Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 (neg depending on experience)

Additional Requirements
Must have federal estimating experience
Must be able to pass a background check (required for federal project work)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer
- Occasional travel to job sites and pre-bid meetings
- Ability to walk active construction sites when needed
- Comfortable working in varying outdoor conditions during site visits
