Position Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Lead the strategic evolution of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), guiding its roadmap and integrations to deliver personalized, automated digital experiences at scale. This role transforms business objectives into technology solutions, shaping a future-ready ecosystem that strengthens member relationships and elevates engagement across the customer lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own and drive the SFMC technical roadmap, serving as subject matter expert to establish best practices in journey design, segmentation, automation, data architecture, and AI-driven personalization, while guiding strategic delivery to optimize customer journeys, enhance member experiences, and achieve measurable KPIs.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate SFMC with Adobe Experience Platform, Salesforce CRM, and other emerging technologies, enabling streamlined workflows that drive enterprise objectives.
Define and manage data requirements and governance to ensure accurate, efficient data exchange across platforms, supporting effective segmentation, automation, personalized messaging, data hygiene, compliance, and retention policies.
Translate technical SFMC enhancements into clear, actionable insights that educate stakeholders and enable cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic goals.
Participate in Agile sprint cycles, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and delivery checkpoints.
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, sharing progress, timelines, blockers, and wins.
Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend new features and best practices to optimize operations.
Support change management and enablement by training SFMC users on new features, tools, and AI capabilities to ensure successful adoption.
Contribute to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organization goals.
Incorporate AAA’s vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guide and motivate others to remain committed to AAA’s vision mission and values.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job does not have supervisory responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years’ experience working with SFMC in a technical or marketing operations role.
3 years’ experience with integrations between SFMC and Salesforce CRM and Adobe Experience Platform, or related API concepts and system integration practices that support scalable marketing automation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with multi-platform MarTech integrations.
Working knowledge of Customer Data Platform (CDP) strategies and real-time personalization use cases.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Administrator, Developer, or Consultant).
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Workfront.
Experience working in Agile environments, including sprint planning and backlog participation.
Understanding of data privacy regulations and how they impact marketing automation and data handling.
Experience working in a membership-based, purpose-driven, or customer-centric organization.
Proficient in leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities within marketing platforms (e.g., Einstein AI, generative AI for content/journey creation, or AI-powered segmentation and recommendations)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Deep understanding of SFMC modules, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, Contact Builder, and data extensions.
Proficient in AMPscript and SQL languages, with in-depth knowledge of APIs and related core technologies within SFMC.
Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance that drives alignment and execution across teams.
Demonstrated ability to enhance customer and member experiences through the strategic and innovative application of marketing technology.
Strong verbal and written communicator, skilled in active listening, diagnosing challenges, and driving effective cross-functional solutions.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize complex work and align resources to strategic objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
