What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee the needs analysis on an ongoing basis to determine training needs and establish objectives for the department, team, or individual and partner with key stakeholders to support initiatives.
- Oversee effectiveness of training and development programs by assessing learning application, follow-through, and performance improvement.
- Manage learning technologies, including collaboration platforms.
- Responsible for overall quality of training by the team, using data and metrics to determine ROI on training programs and training specialist performance.
- Provides direct management to training team.
- Responsible for developing people, improving processes, reducing costs, monitoring quality, delivering results against established objectives, and ensuring a high level of service to internal and external customers.
- Manages assigned employees by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning monitoring, appraising, and reviewing employee job contributions; maintaining compensation, resolving problems, and implementing change.
- Collaborate with leadership to build new training programs.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to test new product, system, and procedure implementation.
- Develop and implement process improvements and efficiencies for training.
- Contribute to key performance metrics, service levels, and operational plans.

- Bachelor’s degree (BA) in business or similar field or equivalent experience
- 4 years’ training experience in the insurance industry
- 3 years’ experience in management or supervisory role
- Active WA State Property & Casualty and Life & Disability Insurance license
- Experience utilizing industry technology and platforms
- Technical aptitude in systems and process improvement.
- Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, establishing rapport, and gaining the trust of others.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including effective use of listening skills.
- Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict, relate positively to people in stressful situations, and remain calm under pressure.
- Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.
- Willing to take extra measures and independent action to solve problems and get work done when the situation calls for it.
- Capable of mentoring, motivating and guiding others toward both individual and organization goals.
- Highly effective facilitation and project management skill sets.
- Skilled in using appropriate interpersonal styles to relate positively to others and reduce conflict.
