ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reconcile general ledger accounts.
Prepare month end journal entries and assist with month end closing procedures.
Manage the daily reconciliation of point-of-sale and inventory.
Manage fixed assets ledger and depreciation.
Assist in the preparation and issue of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Prepare State & Local tax filings and payments; maintain supporting documentation.
Assist in the preparation for the annual financial statement audit.
Assist with the annual budget process, ongoing variance analysis and ad hoc financial and management reporting.
Maintain procedures and internal controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in the recording, posting, summarizing and settlement of accounting transactions.
Review billing invoices for accuracy and completeness and work with sales agents to resolve discrepancies.
Reconcile cash receipts and process payments owed to contractors and vendors.
Review and validate payments to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with company policies (i.e. incentive payments).
Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in business, accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience
2 years’ experience in accounting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2 years’ experience in travel, insurance, or membership organization preferred
ERP or similar technology experience preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPA or CMA preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Competent in designing and maintaining intermediate Excel spreadsheets, and basic databases.
Knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
Proactively identify issues and assist in upgrading and optimizing accounting processes, update internal document procedure in an understandable and easy-to-follow manner.
Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions by assessing relevant information and exercising critical thinking understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.
Skilled in working collaboratively as well as independently, maintain high accuracy, meet tight deadlines, solve problems quickly and proactively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Hybrid work from home and office required
The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
