What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines on commercial semi-trucks
- Troubleshoot aftertreatment systems (DPF, SCR, EGR) and engine electrical faults using computer-based diagnostics
- Repair drivetrain, air brake, suspension and steering systems
- Complete preventative maintenance services and inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and see repairs through from diagnosis to road-ready
- Support trailer and chassis repairs when the shop needs it
- Maintain accurate repair documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and shop standards
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on diesel engine diagnostic and repair experience on commercial trucks
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
Preferred:
- 5 or more years as a diesel technician or diesel mechanic
- ASE or manufacturer certifications
- Trailer repair experience (brakes, air systems, lighting, landing gear)
- Welding experience
- Heavy equipment or farm equipment diesel experience
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment
