Position: Accounting Manager

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Controller

Direct Reports: Accounts Receivable Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist and Collections Specialist

The Role:


Help us enhance performance and operational decision-making throughout the company by ensuring our accounting and financials are timely and accurate.


Responsibilities:


General Accounting

  • Oversee monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across all accounts.
  • Manage month-end close and prepare supporting financial statements.
  • Maintain and analyze inventory, rebates, and employee expenditures.
  • Ensure proper accruals, journal entries, and general ledger integrity.
  • Manage and optimize accounting software systems and processes.

Accounts Receivable

  • Monitor daily job postings for accuracy; correct discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee customer payments, deposits, and collections.
  • Ensure timely closure of jobs and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Maintain Service Partner Plan revenue tracking and deferred revenue schedules.

Accounts Payable

  • Administer the purchase order policy and verify accuracy of bills, packing slips, and vendor statements.
  • Manage bill entry, credit card reconciliations, and weekly check runs.
  • Reconcile supplier and credit card statements monthly.
  • Track warranty credits, prepaid expenses, and recognize costs in proper periods.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial transparency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical service industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and payroll regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Highly motivated, and flexible.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – specifically Excel
  • Excellent Understanding of accounting rules & procedures.
  • Focused, determined, and excited to solve problems and come up with solutions.

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
