Role Description The Packaging Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site position based in Lumberton, NJ. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining packaging line equipment for solid-dose products, ensuring efficient and accurate production runs. Day-to-day tasks include performing equipment changeovers, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and completing routine inspections to reduce downtime and maintain product quality. The Packaging Mechanic will follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices, documenting work performed and communicating issues to supervisors and team members. The role also involves working closely with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement, optimize line performance, and meet production schedules and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience with packaging machinery setup, operation, changeovers, and basic repairs in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic techniques used to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Ability to follow written procedures, read technical documentation, and complete accurate production and maintenance records.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety regulations, and quality standards in a regulated environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Willingness to work on-site in Lumberton, NJ, with flexibility for assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical, food, or consumer goods packaging is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics or industrial maintenance is a plus.
