AAA Oregon/Idaho is looking for a Sustainable Practices Specialist to join our Strategy and Infrastructure team at our administrative headquarters in downtown Portland!
The Sustainable Practices Specialist drives and implements sustainable business practices and Planet, People, Practice (PPP) initiatives. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, management, and execution of sustainability strategies, volunteer time off community engagement initiatives, programs, and reporting. The purpose of this role is to promote AAA's commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical governance. This position will work cross-functionally with multiple business partners and stakeholders across the organization to assist in operational sustainability, organizational PPP, data collection, and reporting.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3 years of total relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with PPP and ESG frameworks, such as SASB and TCFD, an understanding of materiality concepts, and commonly disclosed ESG metrics (e.g., greenhouse gas inventory) and the dynamics of working with external partners.
- Ability to build effective partnerships and influence others without having explicit authority.
- Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
- Passion for sustainability and community partnership work.
- Must be highly detailed and organized with the ability to manage a large volume of data and deadlines across internal and external customers in over twenty regional locations. Sense of urgency, follow-through and high level of responsiveness required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred but not required.
- Must possess strong customer service skills and have ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have ability to analyze problems, think creatively, and make independent decisions or take independent actions based on sound judgement.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling programs, and other computer systems is necessary.

Salary : $70,000
