NOTE: This position is hybrid and requires 3 days a week onsite in our Walnut Creek, CA Corporate office.SummaryOur Data Engineer applies the skills and aptitude of a mid-level data engineer to build and maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse for Reporting, Analytics, Agentic AI and Strategic AI use cases.Essential FunctionsUse experience in and knowledge of Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, Airflow Composer, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, Python, SQL and GitHub to build, modify and maintain the AAA Mountain West Group Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).Collaborate as a member of a high-performing Agile data engineering scrum team.Collaborate with the EDW development team, the larger Data & Integrations engineering team, the Production Data Support team and internal business stakeholders to design and develop new functionality, and to troubleshoot then resolve reported problems.Use Google Gemini AI to generate detailed system documentation for new and modified data pipelines.Interfaces with business stakeholders and data stewards, and mentors junior engineers, from a technical perspective.Aids the data governance structure, and semantic layer, development effortsInvestigate new tools such as Google’s Antigravity for engineering productivity gains.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Collaborates effectively; willing to learn new technology and processes.Uses time effectively, and structures work activities to consistently meet commitments.Builds rapport authentically and effectively, and exercises sound judgment on how best to accomplish assignments.Clarifies competing priorities, making progress on all assignments, while completing those of highest impact first.Understands how one’s own work impacts others, and one’s current level of performance relative to targets.Skilled in problem-solving and process improvement.   Actively participates in group meetings aimed at resolving technical and business challenges.Demonstrates commitment and support for team efforts.
