What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at AAA Engineering & Test Lab?
AAA Engineering & Test Lab
QUALITY MANAGER – Aerospace, Defense & High-Reliability Testing
📍 Palm Bay, Florida
🏢 AAA Engineering & Test Lab
🔒 US Citizenship Required (ITAR)
AAA Engineering & Test Lab is hiring a Quality Manager to lead and strengthen our quality systems across aerospace, defense, and high-reliability component testing. This is not a routine office role, but one that is very much hands on in the lab. The work can be fast-paced, customer-driven, and requires flexibility, accountability, and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure standards are met without compromise.
If you thrive in a hands-on environment where quality is lived, not just written, you may be the right fit for our team.
What You Will Do
You will own AAA’s integrated quality ecosystem, ensuring compliance and excellence across:
- ISO9001 and AS9100
- ISO/IEC 17025
- AS6081 and AS6171
- ANSI/ESD S20.20
- DLA QTSL program expectations
- IPC workmanship standards (IPC-600, IPC-610, IPC-620)
Daily responsibilities include:
- Managing and continuously improving our Quality Management System
- Overseeing document control, internal audits, calibration, training, and CAPA
- Preparing for and leading third-party audits and customer audits
- Ensuring adherence to MIL-STD, AS-standards, and industry best practices
- Supporting engineering teams with process control, risk mitigation, and quality documentation
- Developing training programs and reinforcing quality discipline across the lab
- Investigating issues, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable corrective actions
- Driving a culture of integrity, accuracy, and disciplined execution
This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will be deeply involved in the daily operations of a fast-moving engineering lab.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a mid-career quality professional with 5 to 10 years of experience in high-reliability or aerospace/defense environments. You should be able to:
- Manage a full AS9100/ISO9001 QMS
- Support or lead ISO/IEC 17025 systems and method-based compliance
- Understand AS6081/AS6171 counterfeit mitigation requirements
- Maintain an ANSI/ESD S20.20 program
- Oversee IPC-related workmanship expectations
- Interpret and apply MIL-STD requirements
- Build processes, organize documentation, and implement measurable improvements
- Communicate clearly across engineering, operations, with customers and leadership teams
If you have only been a participant in quality processes rather than an owner of them, this role may not be a match.
Who Thrives at AAA
The Quality Manager role is ideal for someone who:
- Has strong personal integrity and takes ownership for results
- Enjoys working closely with engineers, technicians, and leadership
- Can balance structure with the realities of a small, high-growth company
- Understands that workload varies and is willing to support urgent customer needs
- Appreciates both big-picture quality strategy and hands-on, daily quality tasks
- Embodies AAA’s values of Character, Competency, and Commitment
- Wants to help build a best-in-class quality organization, not just maintain one
This is a role for someone who brings discipline, clarity, and leadership to every situation.
Why AAA
At AAA, you will:
- Lead quality programs that directly impact aerospace and defense missions
- Have autonomy to shape the future of our QMS and processes
- Work in a lab that is DLA QTSL-approved, ISO9001/AS9100 certified, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, AS6081/AS6171 certified, ANSI/ESD S20.20 certified, ITAR-registered, and IPC-trained
- Influence real engineering outcomes with real impact
- Grow quickly in a high-trust, high-expectation environment
Quality is not a department here. It is a culture.
