We are looking for a skilled Conventional Machinist to join our growing team and support our production and repair operations.
Position Summary:
The Conventional Machinist will be responsible for operating manual lathes, mills, and related machine tools to produce, repair, and modify metal parts according to specifications. This role requires a strong work ethic, accurate precision measuring skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of machining practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, knee mills, and boring mills.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Fabricate, repair, or modify parts for production and maintenance needs.
- Ensure all parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
- Maintain equipment and keep a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
- 3 years of experience operating manual machine tools (lathe and mill required).
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, speeds, and feeds.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Welding or CNC machining experience a plus, but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
