Heavy Duty Mechanic

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Heavy Duty Mechanic located in Philadelphia, PA. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Daily tasks include diagnosing issues, performing necessary repairs, troubleshooting mechanical problems, and ensuring all equipment is safe and operational. The role requires adherence to safety standards and maintaining documentation of repair and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance
• Proficiency in Equipment Repair and handling Heavy Equipment
• Experience in identifying and resolving issues through Troubleshooting
• Knowledge of safety protocols and standards related to heavy-duty machinery
• Effective communication and organizational abilities
• Physical ability to work with heavy equipment and machinery
• Relevant certifications in mechanical or technical fields are an advantage
• Prior 3-5 experience in a similar role is preferred

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines

• Familiar with PM services & DOT inspections
• Experience using diagnostic tools
• Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented

• 3 years experience with truck electrical systems
• Knowledge of 12V / 24V systems
• Experience diagnosing wiring, shorts, sensors & ECUs
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Experience with alternators, starters, batteries & lighting
• CAN bus & diagnostic scanner experience preferred
• Inverter & accessory installation a plus
