We are seeking a Principal Java/Kafka Developer to join a leading financial services organization. In this role, you will contribute to building and scaling a high-performance fixed income trading platform using modern backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Oracle.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Work on high-volume, event-driven architectures using Kafka
- Build secure, optimized, and reliable trading application components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
- Support architectural planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to coding best practices
🔥 Must-Have Skills
- Recent hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot/Kafka/Oracle in a trading environment
- Expertise in multithreading, data structures, streams, exception handling, and high-volume messaging
- Strong Oracle PL/SQL and SQL query proficiency
- Deep knowledge of Kafka for event-driven, high-throughput applications
- Strong understanding of API design
- Experience in financial services, especially trading applications (highly preferred)
✨ Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS)
- Exposure to Angular or front-end/UI development
💵 Candidate Pay Rate
$65/hr (W2 referral only)
