A3 Staffing is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant who wants more than a routine accounting role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the day-to-day accounting function while developing the skills, exposure, and leadership experience needed to grow into a leadership role.
This role will have broad responsibility across general accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting, with increasing involvement in budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration. The right candidate will be curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to take on expanding responsibility as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Close
- Manage daily accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly with appropriate supporting documentation
- Review sales activity, aging reports, bank reconciliations, and prepaid/accrual schedules
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare internal financial statements and management reports
- Assist with variance analysis (spend, labor, purchase price, and operational variances)
- Support quarterly forecasts and annual budget preparation
- Provide ad hoc reporting, projections, and financial analysis to management
Operational & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support inventory accounting, valuation, and physical counts
- Support payroll processing and benefit administration in coordination with HR
- Assist other departments with ERP usage, reporting, and process improvements
Compliance, Controls & Audit Support
- Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP and internal policies
- Assist with sales and use tax filings, including multi-state reporting
- Support annual audit and tax preparation by coordinating schedules and documentation
- Help maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support ERP system enhancements, upgrades, and reporting improvements
- Assist in documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Participate in special projects related to systems, controls, and operational efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience working with NetSuite is required
- Exposure to manufacturing or inventory-based environments is a plus
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance is preferred
- Prior experience mentoring or guiding junior staff is helpful but not required
