Duties
- Review and analyze loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate for processing.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis, assessing borrower financials in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and underwriting standards.
- Prepare and evaluate loan packages, verifying compliance with TILA (Truth in Lending Act), Fair Housing regulations, and other federal laws.
- Collaborate with underwriters to facilitate loan approvals, modifications, or denials based on comprehensive risk assessments.
- Manage loan origination processes from initial application through approval, ensuring timely communication with clients and internal teams.
- Oversee mortgage servicing activities, including escrow management and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, contracts, and correspondence using precise 10-key typing skills and basic math for calculations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or Loan Specialist within the financial services or mortgage industry.
- Strong knowledge of FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and loan processing techniques.
- Familiarity with mortgage-related regulations such as TILA and Fair Housing laws.
- Ability to perform credit analysis accurately using financial data and credit reports.
- Experience in loan origination, mortgage servicing, and contract management.
- Proficiency in banking operations, escrow procedures, and basic math calculations essential for loan assessment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications related to mortgage lending or banking are a plus.
