Our client is a Software Company seeking a controller, who will be responsible for the overall financial health of the company by managing accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. They will collaborate closely with operational leaders to provide strategic financial insights, oversee project-specific financial performance, and ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Ensure the timely and accurate generation of financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company's annual budget and periodic forecasts. Monitor financial performance against the budget and provide variance analysis and explanations.
- Project Financial Oversight: Collaborate with project managers to monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects stay within financial guidelines. Coordinate payments to vendors and subcontractors for projects.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Design, implement, and enforce internal controls and financial policies to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant standards.
- Strategic Guidance: Analyze financial data to provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management. Use financial analysis to support short- and long-term operational and strategic planning.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports to management and stakeholders. Communicate financial performance and key metrics clearly and effectively.
- Audit: Prepare for and support internal and external audits. Oversee the auditing of project financials as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
- 5 years of relevant accounting or financial management experience, preferably in a similar industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with project-based accounting and financial controls is a plus.
Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
