Role Overview: As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the store, preventing theft, and providing assistance to both customers and store staff. Your presence will not only deter criminal activity but also enhance the overall shopping experience for our patrons. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain a visible security presence throughout the store to deter theft and ensure safety. - Monitor customer activity and behavior, identifying any suspicious actions. - Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, and assist store personnel as needed. - Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure all areas are secure. - Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of activities and observations. - Enforce store policies and procedures to create a safe shopping environment. Requirements: - A valid New York Security Guard License is mandatory. - Previous experience in security, particularly in a retail or loss prevention role, is preferred. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. - Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism are critical attributes. - Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations. Duties

• Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to oversee store activity and identify suspicious behavior.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including aisles, entrances, exits, and storage areas, to ensure physical security.
• Control access points using access control systems, verifying credentials of employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies by following established procedures; provide first aid or CPR when necessary.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting thefts, accidents, or security breaches for internal records and law enforcement use.
• Perform background checks on new employees or vendors as part of security clearance processes.
• Manage conflict de-escalation techniques to handle unruly customers or disruptive individuals professionally.

Experience

• Prior experience in security roles within retail or similar environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control mechanisms.
• Training in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and performing background checks enhances effectiveness.
• Ability to handle physical security tasks such as heavy lifting and manual handling safely.
• Proven skills in conflict management, incident report writing, and compliance with security regulations are essential.
• Military or law enforcement background provides valuable experience in high-pressure situations.
