Role Description The Master Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Stafford, VA. This position is responsible for planning, installing, and maintaining electrical systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings, ensuring work complies with all applicable codes and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include supervising electrical projects, diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, performing repairs, coordinating with other trades, and guiding team members or apprentices. The Master Electrician will review plans, prepare material lists, and ensure accurate documentation of work performed. The role also involves interacting with customers, explaining findings and recommendations, and supporting estimates for new projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electricity principles and practical electrical work skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.
- Experience applying electrical engineering concepts to system design, installation, and diagnostics.
- Current Master Electrician license in Virginia or the ability to obtain it within a defined timeframe.
- Thorough knowledge of NEC, local codes, and industry safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including mentoring less experienced team members.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site, including occasional overtime or emergency calls.
- Relevant experience in residential and commercial electrical projects; supervisory experience is a plus.
