Role Description

The Field Supervisor – Level 1 is a full-time, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI, responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations and supporting technicians on service and installation projects. This role includes coordinating schedules, monitoring job progress, and ensuring that work is performed according to safety standards, company policies, and applicable codes. The Field Supervisor – Level 1 assists with job planning, materials organization, and basic quality checks, while serving as a first point of contact for field staff on routine issues. The position also involves maintaining accurate documentation, communicating updates to office staff and leadership, and helping to resolve minor customer concerns in a professional manner. The role supports continuous improvement by identifying operational challenges and suggesting practical solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess foundational supervisory or leadership abilities, including task coordination, team support, and basic performance monitoring.
• Candidates should possess practical field operations skills such as job-site organization, time management, and adherence to safety procedures.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including clear verbal communication, professional written documentation, and respectful interaction with customers and team members.
• Candidates should possess basic problem-solving and decision-making skills to address routine job-site issues and escalate more complex concerns appropriately.
• Candidates should possess general mechanical aptitude or prior exposure to HVAC, construction, or related trades, with a willingness to learn company standards and practices.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, and familiarity with using mobile devices or basic software for scheduling and reporting.
• Previous experience in a field lead, crew lead, or similar role, as well as knowledge of local safety and building practices, is considered an asset.
