Cashier/Stocker

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Stocker to join our hardware team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing transactions and maintaining stock levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product recommendations, and upselling items.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring that all merchandise is well-stocked and displayed attractively.
• Perform stocking duties, including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and merchandising products on shelves.
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales.
• Supervise junior staff when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Utilize basic math skills for cash handling and retail math tasks to ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to enhance store operations.

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or hardware store environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and phone etiquette.
• Experience in merchandising and stocking products is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
