Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our private doctor's office. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Knowledge of medical insurance, authorization process, eligibility process a must.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) system-AMD
- Schedule appointments accurately and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and update medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing clear information and routing calls appropriately.
- Maintain organized filing of medical records, reports, and correspondence while ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10-key), faxing, scanning documents, and managing electronic health records management.
- Assist with medical billing processes by verifying insurance coverage and processing claims as needed.
- Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems -AMD.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), and health insurance procedures including Medicare.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person while maintaining professionalism.
- Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, data entry, typing, and office management tasks.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies essential for safeguarding patient information.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with EHR- Advanced MD (AMD) is a plus.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
