- Operate cash registers accurately, handling retail sales transactions with precision and efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Manage cash drawer handling, ensuring proper cash handling procedures and balancing registers at shift end
- Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance customer experience and sales volume
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to maintain an attractive and accessible store layout
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products according to store standards and visual guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail environment is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Proficiency with POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of retail store product lines and merchandising techniques
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly for sales totals, discounts, and change-making
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience under pressure
- Familiarity with stock management, product demos, and upselling strategies is advantageous
